A few months ago, we reported that The Brady Bunch house was on the market. The house in North Hollywood was only used for exterior shots, but a crew from HGTV gutted the interior and remodeled it to exactly replicate the house we know from the TV show. Along the way, they expanded it from 2,500 square feet to 5,500 square feet, mostly to give it the second floor the Brady family had. It now has five bedrooms and five bathrooms, while the Brady family only ever showed one bathroom for the the architect's family of six and their housekeeper. Go figure.
During the house's four months on the market, the price dropped from $5.5 million to $3.2 million. And who bought it? That would be Tina Trahan, wife of media executive Chris Albrecht. Trahann laughed and referred to the sale as "the worst investment ever." Then she corrected herself, saying, "I can't even say the word investment ā I'm going to say liability."
Trahan plans to use the house for charity events. Read more about the Brady Bunch house at NPR. -via Digg ā
