Recently, the Pantone Color Institute announced that Peach Fuzz is the Pantone Color of the Year for 2024. What's so special about this color? How was it selected? To find out more, we turn to Leatrice Eiseman, the Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute. Eiseman has held that job for 30 years, a journey that began when she was a child and her parents let her pick the colors for her bedroom. She always had a knack for colors.
The Pantone Color Institute is a color consulting firm, which helps companies select colors for their products, branding, and even logos. To do this, Eiseman and her staff study trending colors from art, movies, fashion, and a variety of other sources. They also study the trending moods of consumers to predict what colors will be hot in the future. But Eiseman herself does not have a favorite color. She laughed and explained that as a colorist, she must treat all colors equally to make objective decisions. In fact, she uses many different colors in her home.
