Construction Technology Class Students at Westerly High School in Rhode Island Build a Covered Bus Stop for a Disabled Child

Ryder Kilam's house is only about 75 feet from the bus stop. While this may be a short distance for most people, for Ryder, it is pretty far, as he cannot walk.

Every morning, his parents would push him to the end of their driveway, and Ryder would wait for the bus after. Unfortunately, not all mornings have been good for the 5-year-old. Rainy days are a challenge for him, and he would get wet while waiting for the bus. Ryder's parents tried to solve the problem by putting on a large umbrella in the area. Unfortunately, it didn't work, so they posted their problem on Facebook, and it reached the Construction Technology class at Westerly High School. Amazingly, the class readily volunteered to build a bus hut for Ryder.

Three classes worked on the bus hut, and Ryder has been using it ever since its installation.

Now this is wholesome!
