Restaurant Kamakura Village Serves Food to Diners in Igloos

Twenty pop-up igloos at Restaurant Kamakura Village in Nagano, Japan provide hearty meals and an isolated getaway while adhering to pandemic restrictions.

Today, the pandemic has taught us to appreciate time spent with loved ones, whether it be as simple as sharing meals or chatting around a table. For a limited time from January 21st until February 27th 2022, Restaurant Kamakura Village offers exactly this. Guests can huddle up in one of their igloos (up to four people at a time), play outside in the snow, and visit Kamakura shinto shrine.


Guests can also enjoy Noroshi Nabe, a local hot pot specialty of miyuki pork, vegetables and mushrooms. Lunch and dinner cost 3,700 yen and 4,200 yen per person respectively. Children under five can eat for free.
