Sensory Nook: Pods for People with Autism, Dyslexia, Dementia and other Sensory Integration Disabilities

Researchers across different fields have been looking for ways to aid people who have neuro-divergent conditions such as ADHD, Autism, and Dyslexia. The goal has always been to make things more accessible and inclusive. School and work environments can be especially challenging for neuro-divergent people. To help them cope, de-stress, and calm down in these environments, Nook has designed and manufactured pods that specifically address their unique sensory needs.

These Sensory Nooks will assist neurodiverse people in coping with mood swings, difficult behavior, and unexpected anxiety attacks that could lead to socially awkward circumstances. The features include calming lilac padding, a scent system, color spectrum lighting, and vibrating seats. It is definitely not a one-size-fits-all type of solution, because every person's needs are different. While this is not a perfect solution, it is still a step towards providing a more inclusive environment.
