“The Board” by Nils Holger Moormann is a Space-Saving and Elegant Fold-Out Workstation

Since the pandemic has compelled a huge portion of office workers to work from home, some people have found it necessary to renovate or even build their own home office setup.

Not everyone, however, has the space in their house for a dedicated office. So this invention by German designer Nils Holger Moormann is a welcome solution that can help.

Der Vorstand (German for “The Board”) is a space-saving, wall-mounted and foldable workstation that folds flat when it’s not used.  When we need the work space, all we have to do is pull the unit and fold down the work table. The elegant and stylish workstation is cleverly made to keep glare from windows and keep cluttered backgrounds at bay. Curtains can also be installed to provide better protection from glares, while the lights are dimmable to provide more privacy.

The workstation measures 95 cm wide, 230 cm tall and 37.5 cm deep when folded. When fully extended, the desk is 71 cm wide and 59.1 cm deep, whereas the overall unit’s depth is 170 cm.

The cost of this furniture is estimated to be USD $9,800.
