The Story of the 40-year-old Candle

This is a story about how a single event can turn into a lifelong hobby, no matter how weird it is. Behold the candle drippings in the picture above. This is part of what's been dubbed the "40 Year Old Candle."

About a year ago, TokTokker Taylor Underhill posted a video of her grandmother's candle, which began as a single candle set on top of a beer can forty years ago. en.

She set another candle on top when the first one melted, and then another, and over the years it built itself into a sculpture of dripping wax in many colors. Taylor has a picture with it from 20 years ago when she was a toddler, and it was already huge then. She enlisted her grandmother into giving the audience some candle tips.

She also takes steps to groom the candle and keep it in good shape.

This is what she does with wax she scrapes off the table. To get it to look like this it take more than just lighting the candle! #10MillionAdoptions #FindYourEdge #grammyonthecammy #fyp

Taylor and her grandmother have plenty of other videos about the candle's history and maintenance. Taylor is also planning to start her own candle sculpture so she can post videos of the process from the beginning. Check back at her video gallery for more updates. -via Nag on the Lake
