In most cities, tiny apartments are the result of subdividing previous apartments or houses, and the results can be pretty weird. Also, since their size makes them cheaper, there's usually little in the way of amenities. Not so in Tokyo, where planners are deliberately constructing tiny living spaces and making them as useful and efficient as possible.
The result is an apartment that's about 97 square feet, but comes with a kitchen, washer hookup, separate shower and toilet, loft, storage cabinets, and lots of light. That's some planning! To compare, Tokyo Lens also took look at Tokyo's cheapest apartment. -via Digg
