Jose Prats is a realtor in Los Angeles. He recently explored a Spanish-style L.A. home and found a trap door in the floor of a bedroom closet. Trap doors often go to crawl spaces for utility access, or sometimes to a root cellar, but this one was strangely inaccessible. Underneath he found a set of stairs. Where would it lead?
@sellingla I might just have found a real speakeasy ! Speakeasies were a place where alcoholic beverages were illegally sold, especially such establishments in the United States during Prohibition (1920–33) #speakeasy #realtor #couplegoals #wow #blindpigparlour #holymoly

A secret bar beneath a bedroom! Talk about a private party! This could have been built during Prohibition, but the secret basement has been updated a few times since, indicating that the owners knew about it in different eras. Prats has promised updates when he finds out more about the house and its history. There is no listing yet, but one may be coming soon. Read more about this find at Apartment therapy.
