Harold Lloyd’s World Famous Christmas TreeSilent film actor Harold Lloyd loved Christmas. He and his family lived in a spacious Beverly Hills home named Greenacres. For Christmas, Lloyd would purchase three of the biggest Christmas trees he could find and combine them to make a huge 20-foot tree. He covered it in ornaments that ranged from blown glass artworks worth thousands of dollars to gifts from fans. The family had so many ornament that they began putting up extra trees all around the estate. Eventually, Lloyd realized it was too much trouble to erect a new tree each year, and had the latest one fireproofed. After that, it stayed up all year, showing off its 5000 or so ornaments.
