The Queen of Offbeat Airbnbs
For Kristie Wolfe, there’s no place she can’t call home. The woman is the figure behind some of Airbnb’s most unique listings. And get this, she built them all herself, from the ground up.Wolfe’s handiworks are not your typical vacation homes. In the last decade, she’s built a jungle treehouse in Hawaii, a real-life Hobbit hole in Washington, a converted fire lookout in the middle of a forest and a potato-shaped tiny home in Idaho. Due to the high cost of land in tourist hotspots, Wolfe chose to build her rental homes in lesser-known locations. However, it does not deter vacationers from booking them. Guests have to wait for as long as 430 days in order to reserve a night at some of her homes. The unconventional life paid off for Wolfe. She used to earn $13 per hour doing odd jobs. Nowadays, her properties rack in hundreds of thousands of dollars annually.Image: Kristie Wolfe#Airbnb #VacationHome #Hobbit #treehouse #PotatoHouse #KristieWolfe
