A Hidden Passage in a 500-year-old House

Freddy Goodall says his family has lived in the same house for 30 years, but they didn't know there was a secret passageway behind a bookcase. Where does it go? Pretty much where you'd expect, to the crawl space underneath. But there are also connections to stairs leading to the attic and to other sections of the house. What do you want to bet there are other covered panels that used to be access points? But that wasn't all he found. He has several more videos about his adventures under the house.

If someone in the US found a book dated from the 1850s in their basement, that would be special. Things are different in the UK. But yes, we do want to see what's in the safe!

I guess that's why they call it a safe. But they're not giving up.

All those keys, and no match. Time to bring in the big tools. Or bring the safe outside.

Success! But what's inside? Part six will tell us.

If that were my house, I would consider that a treasure. It might not mean much to anyone else, but it is historically significant to Goodall and his family. At the very least, it makes a good story! -via Digg
