Pretty much where you'd expect, to the crawl space underneath. But there are also connections to stairs leading to the attic and to other sections of the house. If someone in the US found a book dated from the 1850s in their basement, that would be special. Things are different in the UK. But yes, we do want to see what's in the safe!
