Meet the One Step Ladder, the winner of The Conran Shop’s inaugural Designer of the Future Award.
The One Step Ladder, designed by Cameron Rowley, was intended as a domestic tool and a display piece. The Kingston University graduate placed a heavy emphasis on the ladder’s function. While his work looks simple, Rowley created a unique and new spin on ladders and step ladders.
The contraption is a combination of a step stool and ladder. According to Rowley, it is an item that could be used ‘only for a brief moment.’ In addition, the design occupies a smaller space in the house compared to its regular counterparts.
