The Cachoeira Chair by Pedro Villar Has No Legs

A rug inspired Pedro Villar, a Brazilian Design student, to create a multi-functional furniture piece that would allow homeowners to have more flexible interactions with people by allowing them to sit or lay down while talking without sacrificing space.

The Cachoeira is a one-of-a-kind sitting creation because it combines various types of furniture into a single unit. It's constructed of wood and has a plush cushioned top for enhanced comfort. Individuals can sit in any position they want because each piece has two backs on opposite sides. It's designed to bring people together and create a new dynamic environment.

Pedro Villar was awarded a $3,000 Gianninoto Graduate Scholarship by the IDSA Design Foundation this year for this design.
