Folded Steel Table by Michael Hilgers Adds an Extra Layer to Put Your Coffee CupMichael Hilgers is a Berlin-based architect with a background in cabinetmaking, design, and invention. His designs are usually innovative, with a minimalist aesthetic. Hilgers has reimagined classic product categories using a sensible approach for today's living and working. As part of his NIVO collection and with the help of the manufacturing company CASALA, he has introduced the HOKU side table. Three tables are included in the series, each of which is different in size but has the same folded steel tabletop and function. The bending table surface acts as a multifunctional side table and is inspired by a wave. It acts as a functional second level, space-saving furniture, and a magazine/newspaper rack, in addition to being aesthetically pleasing. The side table is entirely constructed of steel with a matte structural powder coating, while the coffee table has solid oak legs and is available in two sizes.Images by:Chris Van Koeverden#HOKU #Table #Steel #Multifunctional
The Cachoeira Chair by Pedro Villar Has No LegsA rug inspired Pedro Villar, a Brazilian Design student, to create a multi-functional furniture piece that would allow homeowners to have more flexible interactions with people by allowing them to sit or lay down while talking without sacrificing space. The Cachoeira is a one-of-a-kind sitting creation because it combines various types of furniture into a single unit. It's constructed of wood and has a plush cushioned top for enhanced comfort. Individuals can sit in any position they want because each piece has two backs on opposite sides. It's designed to bring people together and create a new dynamic environment.Pedro Villar was awarded a $3,000 Gianninoto Graduate Scholarship by the IDSA Design Foundation this year for this design.Images by: Pedro Villar #Cachoeira #Chair #Multifunctional #Rug
