Rent an Office Space Inside This Retro Japanese TrainI wish there's a space like this near my home. A retired train is turned into a shared office space in Miyazakidai Station in Tokyo, Japan. The unique working environment houses space for people to place their laptops and other office supplies. Interestingly, it resembles the train featured in Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away. While the interior is not the same, the train’s gorgeous wood panels, warm round lights, and plush green seating still pull the resemblance quite a bit!Image credit: SoraNews24#MiyzakidaiStation #Tokyo #Japan #RetroTrain #SharedOfficeSpace
These Children’s “Randoseru” Backpacks Look Straight Out of the Victorian Era“Randoseru” is a leather backpack that children in Japan carry to school. It’s a symbol of childhood as well as of status, with prices ranging from pricey to extremely pricey. This advertising campaign of children's clothing brandLirico just features randoseru that are so fancy they will make you wish you were a child again. The ad campaign featured Caucasian school children dressed in fancy Victorian and cowboy outfits, posing with their randoseru backpacks in dream-like scenes. While we're not convinced of the practicality of giving school children randoseru backpacks that cost 59,000 円 (over US$ 500) and hope that they'll keep it clean, there's no denying that these are gorgeous backpacks.Image Credits: Lirico#randoseru #leather #backpack #japan
Shota Urasaki’s Award Winning Cloud Chair Japanese artist Shota Urasaki’s fascination with the sky, along with her creativity and artistry, has landed her the Gold A’ Design Award at the A’ Design Award & Competition. Urasaki designed a cloud chair, which came up after the artist saw a moving cloud while it rained on the coast of Okinawa, Japan, where she lived. The chair is designed to mimic a cloud raining down. The seating surface is white, fluffy and cloud-like. It is made by piercing polyester fiber into the polyurethane foam with a needle. Meanwhile, the legs of the chair, which are made of stainless steel, depict the water droplets that fall as rain. The chair’s structure gives whoever sits on the chair the illusion of floating.
